About the Essex County Correctional Facility Project

The Essex County Correctional Facility is a new $416 million multi-use prison and courts facility in Newark New Jersey housing the Newark Police Department, Essex County Sheriff's Department, Essex County Court System, and houses 2,800 inmates

Project Development International was retained by Essex County three years into a project that was significantly behind schedule and $200 million over budget. Our challenge was to provide expert assistance to reduce the damages being incurred by Essex County and provide recommendations to get the project back on track.

Our involvement resulted in improving the scheduled completion date by over six months, resolving Prime Contractor Claims at 22% of face value, with all accomplished for a minimum of legal and consulting fees.

The ultimate result of our involvement was the completion of the largest public building project in the history of the State of New Jersey with no post construction disputes or litigation. Project Development's participation provided Essex County with timely completion assistance, significant reduction of claimed damages, and the elimination of years of litigation.

About the Sarasota Federal Building Project

The Sarasota Federal Building was originally built in 1934 by nationally known architect George Albree Freeman. In March 1984, the Federal Building was listed in the National Register of Historic Places. In 2002 the City of Sarasota began the historic restoration and renovation of the Federal Building.

Project Development was chosen as the Owner's Representative for this historic renovation project. The City of Sarasota benefited from our experience and expert guidance that prevented problems from arising by time sensitive management of critical elements over the course of the project. Our involvement resulted in the completion of the restoration and renovation of the Sarasota Federal Building on time, within budget and dispute free.

About the Sarasota Police Headquarters Project

The Sarasota Police Headquarters Facility is a 100,000 sq. ft., six-story complex designed to house the Sarasota Police Department, and to act as its Emergency Services Center in the event of a hurricane of up to a Category 5 intensity
